Family Location

Sharing your child's real-time location on MoSilver and MoGold — invites, permissions, and troubleshooting.

Which plans include location sharing?

Location sharing is available on MoSilver and MoGold. It’s not part of MoBasic, the free plan.

How do I start sharing my child's location?

From the parent app, send a location invite. It shows up in your child’s app, they approve it, and you’ll see their real-time location and battery. That approval step is required — you can’t turn it on for them.

My child didn't get the invite, or says nothing showed up.

The invite lands as a banner in your child’s app. If they don’t see it, you can resend it from your app.

Can my child stop sharing their location?

Yes, anytime, from their app. You’ll get a notification when they do.

Can my child see my location?

No. Location sharing only goes one way — you can see your child’s location, but your child can’t see yours.

Can I turn it off myself?

Yes, you can stop sharing anytime from the parent app.

Does my child know their location is being shared?

Yes. While sharing is on, your child sees an active indicator in their app the whole time. It’s never silent.

The location looks old or isn't updating.

You’re seeing the last known location, with a timestamp for when it was captured. The usual causes are a phone that’s off, a low or dead battery, or the app being uninstalled. If none of those fit, reach out to support and we’ll look at it case by case.

My child approved it but I still can't see their location.

This is almost always a phone-level location permission — either it’s been denied, or it’s set to “while using the app” instead of “always.” Your app will flag when that’s the case and walk you through the fix.

The battery level looks wrong.

Battery updates on the same schedule as location. So if the location is stale, the battery reading is too — an old timestamp usually explains a battery number that looks off.

Can both parents see the location? Can I track more than one child?

Not yet. This version supports one parent and one child.

Is location history saved? What happens to the data?

This version shows live location only, no history or timeline. The last location captured is stored encrypted in the Modak database.
