Account Switching

Can I create an account for my child who does not have a phone number?

Yes! If your child is under the age of 13, you can create an account for them with no phone number associated.

If I added a kid with no phone number, but then I get them a phone, can I add it to their account?

Right now, no. However, this feature is being developed so please check back soon!

If my kid does not have a phone number, can they engage with app features such as chores?

Yes! When you create an account for your kid under 13 without a phone number, they are listed in your (parent) app under “Switch Account” (in profile). This allows you to change the view of your app to the kid/teen view. You can do this on your own phone or on a shared device such as an iPad, so your kid can utilize it themselves.

If I switch account views to kid view, can my kid get into my account?

When you switch to kid view, you are given the option to require your password to be input to switch back to parent view. If this option is not selected, switching to the parent view will require biometrics.

If I had added a spouse’s number for my kid, can I remove it to access the kid view?

No, right now we don’t have the capability to remove a phone number that has been added.

Can I link my child’s account to a phone number later if they turn 13?

Right now, this isn’t possible. However, we are actively working on a solution that will allow you to add a phone number once your child turns 13 and gets their own phone. Stay tuned for updates!

If my kid gets their own phone later, will they lose their account history when adding the new phone number?

No, they won’t lose any information. When they get a phone and add their number, they will simply change the way they log in. All account details, including transaction history and settings, will remain the same.

How can I create an account that can be switched?

Follow these steps to create a switchable account for your child:

  1. Create Your Child’s Account
    • Go to your parent account and start the process of adding a child.
    • Select the option "My child doesn’t have a phone or email."

  2. Access the Switch Account Feature
    • Once the child’s account is created, go to the Profile section in your app. Locate it at the top left side of your screen.
    • Below your name, you will see a button labeled "Switch Account." Tap on it.
    • Tap on your child’s name to open their app view.

  3. Set Up Security for Switching Back

    • You will be asked if you want to have your password as an additional security measure to switch back to your account
      • If selected, your password will be required to switch back.
      • If not, you’ll be able to switch back using phone biometrics or phone password.
    • Choose your preferred method and confirm.

  4. Access the Kid View
    • Once the security method is set, you will be redirected to the kid’s view of the app.
    • Your child can now start using the app on your device.
    • When they’re finished, you can use the button to switch back to your view.
